OK, so far I have modded phones, xbox1, xbox 360, dreamcast, ps2's and a few psp's. Now the Wii is my target I have a June of '06 wii (model number LU3122* and will be ordering a wiikey here shortly from http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/home.php as they are on sale (neat!) and wiikey.cn says they are an official reseller. Hopefully I can trust them. Anyway. Instead of quick soldering them, or short wire soldering it. I was thinking this:

solder a long wire from contacts on board, to out of the wii, making sure it doesnt look trashy. on outside of wii (like the back) make a connector and then from the connector to the wiikey. So basicly, in the future, if ninendo did manage to block users having a modchip, or bending the rules or whatever, you could make it plug and play (well besides unplugging the power cord and battery, etc.... has anyone tried this??

it's been done. some of the original modchips required a toggle switch...and all of them can basically be toggled in the same fashion.
