Why can't you just put the files on the right type of disk and play? Its the same files on the disk, just a different disk.

DVD burners can't write to the inner most ring where the disc info is stored. Pressed discs have the boot commands there. The hacked firmware forces a burned game to boot even though that info isn't on the disc.

This is the inner hub of a game disc. See the "bar code". That's your security info. Drives can read it, but the inner hub on writable media is not burnable there, so burners can not duplicate it.

When a backup is made, that "bar code" is read, then located to a different location in the iso. The modded firmware tells the drive to check both the inner hub AND the new location where the security info was burnt to.

Original games are "pressed"... they use a glass master copy and a mold. They're not burnt to the disc. That's how they get the security info to the inner hub.
