Hello,
How long do medium quality DVD-R or DVD+R disc last? I read that the organic dye decomposes with time. How much damage does brief sunlight exposure do, like how much does it take away from the life time of the disc?

Thanks,
Eric

Brief exposure shouldn't do any major damage to organic-dye based media but if it's a disc you use on a regular basis, your best choice is to burn a master copy on quality media & store this away in a cool, dark storage area & use an ok quality disc as a 'Play' disc.

Media life is unknown at the moment but don't expect them to last the claimed upto 100 years, not by a long shot. Apart from initial media/burn quality, Storage is the MOST important factor in the longer term.
