That I am sure is a Simpson quote from a sales add. I think Hommer is watching the Tv and about to give credit card info, but stoped my marge.

I thought Simpsons and did a web search. Lots are talking about this. I am 95% positive that its from the Simpsons and Not a movie.

After searching for this, I am amazed at how many forum are talking about this and no one has an answer yet. Some Simpsons forum, I bet will get the answer first.

I think this may have been said in the Simpsons episode were Homers Brother comes back from the gutter and builds the baby talking device. I think Homer ask what it does and the answer is the quote. And the comment is that he should just take existing invention and add a clock. Any budy with a DVD set of the Simpsons should go through them and find it. Episodes I would guess on would be that won, The episode when Homer tries to become an inventor.

It is most definitely from "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". I've been watching it and it came up when someone was using a machine. The alien fella says (after being asked 'What does it do') "It doesnt do anything, thats the beauty of it".
