I've been looking everywhere. I can't find a good tutorial for installing HDLoader on my HDD to use on my PS2. I've read a few, but I am a noob in this subject and everyone uses abbreviations that i can't understand. I'm sorry if this is the millionth time someone has asked this, but i've been searching forever. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I've been looking at SKSAPPS.com. If anyone knows how to use that site, let me know please.
Firstly, do you have a modded ps2? "Modded" as in you are able to load burned copies of your games on the ps2?
IF not, then you will need to temporarily borrow a friends modded ps2 to installa "MC" (memory card) exploit onto your memory card. This essentially allows one to install HDLoader (as well as homebrew and other apps) onto one's memory card. After the installation of the apps onto the MC, it allows an unmodded ps2 to boot the applications installed on the memory card to boot, upon loading an ORIGINAL (not copy) Playstation 1 (PSX) game disk. This is especially useful.
Tools/utilities/stuff you will need:
1.PS2 network adapter
2.3.5 in IDE PATA hard drive that can connect to the network adapter (some don't fit. There is a compatibility chart somewhere, though I can't locate it at the moment)
3.an elf of HDloader
4.Memory card exploit creator/installer (you will need to burn the result onto a blank CD)
5.an original PSX game disk
6.a close friend that will let you use his/her ps2 for a short while to install HDloader onto your memory card (mc exploit)
IF you DO have a modded ps2:
1.then just download the HDloader image (bin/cue or iso) and burn it to a cd/dvd (depends on the format of the HDLoader [some copies are DVD images and some are CD images]).
2.get a PS2 network adapter
3.get a 3.5 in IDE PATA hard drive that can connect/fit properly to the network adapter (some don't fit. There is a compatibility chart somewhere, though I can't locate it at the moment)
