Isn't it possible to create Pandora's battery on 2.71? On 2.71, you emulate 1.5 and follow the steps needed to create the battery. When you're at the steps where it asks you to fully turn off your PSP, you fully turn off your PSP, turn it on, run HEND, then run Devhook and emulate 1.5 again. I think it should be possible. Please tell me if this is not possible.

Next time, don't make 2 threads about the same thing, but yes, it should work, all you need is for your PSP to be able to run unsigned code. So emulating 1.50 will probably work.

I dont think it would because they would have said that you could emulate 1.5 and still run it but they didnt so I doubt it.

Yes, but hey did "imply" that any homebrew capable PSP can make it, so don't rule it out.

Thanks, and sorry about making two threads. I made the first one and when I pressed Submit New Thread it didn't work, so I created another one. But it seems that it did work. Anyways, I'm going to try making the Jigkick battery. The worst thing that can happen is that I brick, and if I do, I can just buy a jigkick battery from Ebay or a Chinese mall (like Pacific Mall) and unbrick my PSP.

There is an easy installer that puts the files on your memstick for you...Which is found HERE And yes it will work on your 2.71...But if you are just trying to downgrade-why not use THIS instead...?

I think he wants to create it so if he bricks downgrading or anything, he can fix it, not to purposely brick and use that to "downgrade"

Yea, prices on ebay will be going up and batteries will be disappearing from shelves everywhere. Non-homebrewers will be wondering what the hell's going on :)

Well you can revert the battery back to normal too, I guess..But Then you would have to switch it back if you needed to unbrick-I figure it would be easier to just have the battery already made on hand-in case of emergencies...

Yea, if you wanted it incase of a brick during update, you'd need two batteries anyway, one for the normal update, and the Jig-Kick one to fix it if it bricked.

And the magic memory stick to flash to the NAND. By the way, how much do 256MB memory stick pro duo's cost these days anyways? On the sites, they no longer show them anymore, just the 512MB sticks and up.

You could probably get a 256MB for dirt cheap on ebay...I usually dont advise people to get their memory from ebay, but I dont think they (the scammers) would waste their time making a fake one of that size...

Thanks but I don't really trust buying things online. And I know someone who bought a guitar off ebay simply because it was cheaper and the guitar had these cheese stains all over it. And he said never trust the descriptions on ebay because it said it was in good condition and clean.

Yep, you should be able to. I'm doing it tomorrow once I get the battery and memory stick, hopefully I can grab them at a cheap price. What you do is emulate 1.5 then do whatever you have to do to create it.

Wait, you can't create a Jigkick battery and the magic memory stick on firmware 2.71. Okay, you use HEND to use Devhook which emulates 1.5. Then you have to format the memory stick but the firmware is on the memory stick. Anyways, just say you format the memory stick before hand, and then you put Devhook. Would that work? Because then what's the point in formatting? And besides just say if you do this on a 256MB memory stick pro duo, as recommended, Devhook takes up about 200MB. Then you'll only have about 56MB to work with. I don't know. It's complicated. Hmm, maybe you can emulate the firmware with a normal memory stick, then switch the memory sticks and run the programs necessary. Would that work?
