The font is for some reason is bold and its to big for the area given for it so its hard to read

this is happening in other programs too

here is another pic of a different program with the same problem

Heres what Ive tried

1) changing the windows theme to something else, which didnt fix it
2) making sure my Message Text in appearance was not bold, and it wasnt
3) Brought up a sticky keys prompt and went through and made sure all the options were off, including high contrast disply and still nothing

i dont know when this started happening or id just system restore
and i dont want to reinstall windows (i dont even have a disc)

does anyone have any ideas

Thanks in Advance

Right click your desktop and select Properties. Select the tab at the top that says Appearance. I don't know what your OS is but if it is XP you will need to select the Advanced button. Another window will open called Advanced Appearance. You can make changes to every item if that is what you desire. You will see a color button, a bold button, and an italics button.

Most likely the one that needs to change is either the Window Text or the Message Text. But as I said you may select all of them to verify the font and font size that is used.

Good luck!

I fixed it, heres how

Reset the windows default font size to 75%, then back to 100%. Restart the system. Here's how to do the right way.

Open Display in Control Panel. On the Settings tab, click Advanced. On the General tab, in the DPI setting list, click the dots per inch (dpi) setting you want to use.

If you choose Other in the DPI setting list, you can set custom options in the Custom DPI Setting dialog box either by selecting one of the percentage options in the drop-down list or by clicking on the ruler and dragging the pointer to specify a setting. Restart your computer when prompted.

rawtunes,
Your pic did not show up! So basically that makes the way to do it a little more simplified. Good to learn!! I always made adjustments to my settings the way I originally told you how to do it. Thanks for the tip! We all teach as well as learn!
