Hey all just got my 360 elite today and i am asuming it has the unflashable benq drive what a bummer

LOT NO 0728
TEAM FDOU

Could anyone be able to tell me what version i may have dont want to open the case if its not flashable ie 78fk or 79fk

Also would i be able to buy a drive of ebay and just swap it like the hitachi or samsung 1

u can't replace the drive unless you dump your new drives firmware and get the key. and you can't do that with a benq.

I just looked on 360drives and there aren't any 0728's listed. You may have the Hitachi. Eject your dvd tray and compare it to the one's listed here. http://www.360mods.net/News/article/sid=61.html

i have been out of the seen for a while but im sure its yet not moddable with or without modchip. or firmware flashes!

Yes I have done some research on the net for some time now and found that it is not moddable but the lot 0728 is suppost to be the one with the new chip inside so that the rrod dosent happen

yes it's possible to get the key from the benq. so you can put in a samsung or hitachi drive, and play modded games

but through an external programmer and desoldering TSOP

in a while ixtreme for benq should arrive.

change the subject a bit now

the easiest way to back you games up as far as i know is to buy one of thease drives for you pc

then mod it with the keron firmware is this true and is that the drive everone is on about

The Firmware can be downloaded from xbins its a bit of a hassle but you will also be able to download a lot more tools and firmware for the 360 just follow this tutorial

Also as far as i know the BENQ's have been flashed but there writing the Ixtreme for it now so probably about a month they will be flashable :)
