I have some avi video files that play perfectly on the computer, i would like it so when i burn them i don't get any audo syncing problems or anything like that, is it reccommended that i use up 4.65gb of space coz sme one told me you should leave a bit of space free. Also what program should i use to burn them, & will they have any region code like pal coz i would prefer it they didn't so i could watch them anywhere? thx

4.4 GB would be safer.

http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, WMV,MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)

Burn the dvd folder with 'ImgBurn'

http://www.imgburn.com/

Run ImgBurn
Click 'Mode' > 'Build'
Click 'Output' > 'Device'
Click 'File' > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK'
Use 'Verbatim' DVD media.
Set burning speed to 4x and click the green write button.

Or try FAVC, it converts, creates a menu and burns in one package.

I've tried converting with this program it worked good once, but the last few times I've had syncing problems. Do you know how to fix that?

If you mean FAVC, then no, I haven't run into that problem - yet.
You might try changing the encoder or run the same file through vsoDivX2dVD and see if that makes a difference.

I seldom see sync problems with a file that plays ok before conversion.

I was actually talking about VSO Divx2DVD. And I can't seem to get FAVC to work so if you know where there is a guide for that it would help out greatly. thanks

Is the sync problem consistent, inasmuch as you tried one file and it worked, can you try the same file again and see if it fails?

No guide for FAVC that I have seen.
All I did was load the avi, select the disk size, NTSC, and open ImgBurn (to burn the DVD).
The rest I defaulted.

You could try ConvertXtoDVD.The trial program leaves a watermark and there is also AVI2DVD which is free.

Yea, don't use old beta software like VsoDivxToDVD v0.5.2b. Pop for the latest ConvertXtoDVD.

Some excellent free alternatives.
