Are your jumper setting on your HDD set to master? Have you properly inserted the HDD to the NA and or the NA into the PS2? Try those and report back if it still won't work.

Try using a different Network Adapter or checking the port that connects to the PS2. It may be damaged.

The network adapter will work right out of the box. You shouldn't need to set any switches or program it.

what else could be wrong besides the adaptoe i got a 120 gb maxtor had drive could that be it

I have gotten the same error as you have a few times after I took it out to add some games through the PC. You may just have to re-instert the hard drive into the bay. The hard drive probably wasn't secure. At least, that always worked for me.


FYI: I use a Maxtor 120 and a western digital 160 for my two ps2's, so incompatibility with the hard drives is NOT the issue.

HDloader should automatically format your hard drive upon the first boot-up w/ the hard drive in. When you first boot-up with the hard drive (assuming the ps2 is recognizing your hard drive), a message will pop-up asking if you to format the drive. Say yes. (remember, whatever is on the drive will be lost)
