I recently moved my computer from my upstairs to downstairs, and when i did, the signal isn't as strong. Right now my wireless software utility states that i have 24.0 mbps, before i had 54 mbps. My wireless router is upstairs, and my pc is downstairs, so maybe since the computers are far apart there is a lower connection? Also, my wireless network card utility software is blinking from green to yellow. green is like good connection 54 mbps) and yellow 18-36 mbps. I tried moving the wireless antenna on my network card in my basement so that its pointed in different directions but that doesn't seem to help. So what do you guys recommend i do to have a good 54 mbps speed? Thanks a lot.

Move your PC back, lol...

J/K, but anyways...there are dead spots all over and walls and other channels (such as cordless pones) have conflicts. you can get a range expander which will cost around $100 bucks or you can get a wireless N router for $120 bucks.

also make certain the computer case is not between the wireless card antenna & router. found that out on a customer's computer. also edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

Well, my computer is about 8 inches away from my wall... I have a monitor cable plugged in right above it into my graphics card, but i cant change where that is. I might just move my computer to another spot.

just try to keep netcard antenna in line of sight with router except for the walls.
