If it's not powering on even after a new Power/Eject cable, that means the part of the motherboard that controls that function might be dead, a fuse is probably to blame you can get some here.
Or it could mean the power supply isn't working, one way to test this is to a solder a 12v electronic device (like a computer fan) to this point on you're PS2 power supply, and if the fan turns on after the PS2 is switched on then it means that the problem lies within you're motherboard or one of it's components. Then after you know the motherboard is the problem, then you can go ahead and buy those fuses.
its not the power supply ps2 turns on and my version is a 39002 because it turns on and the power button works but nothing comes up on screen and the blue eject button does not turn on or work
Quote:as title says but the ps2 does turn on but no visuals and no eject button just wondering wat stuff can cause this
Sorry I read wrong, my bad.
It could also still be a fuse, like what was on mod-chip.com. I'm using the 39001 version, and I also have a fuse problem my fan connectors did not work, so instead of testing all of the fuses with a multimeter I just soldered an 80mm PC case fan to the power supply, and it works better than the stock fan..and it's a hell of alot quieter too, even with more air flow.
It seems to me that you're PS2 is dieing, and you might as well just pick up a used V7 motherboard off of ebay. Also, could you tell me what caused the PS2 to stop working correctly? Did you take it apart or something and then all of a sudden it didn't work anymore?
