I have just purchased a Philips DVDR985, and I will be recording live performances directly to DVD+RW from digital cam corders and a hi fidelity audio system.
When completed, I get requests for a CD of the performance (music). I simply want to take the DVD+RW and make an audio CD-R.
I own a 2.4 GHz 256 MB 80GB Compaq with XP Pro, a DVD reader, and a Sony DRU-510 DVD burner.
I am looking for a SIMPLE way to make this happen. My non-technical office staff will make the copies. Thank you for your help.
Well This is Fairly easy...What I would do is use SmartRipper to Rip the DVD But I use these Settings: First I go into settings and Under "File Splitting" I check the "Max File Size" Box then at the Bottom put in 9000mb as the Max file size...Then I would go to the "Stream Processing" Setings and un-check all of the Boxes accept for the English audio track, Usually the First Box, then choose to "Demux to seperate File" option...Now Rip the DVD and you should be left with a AC3(Usually) audio file that you just need to convert to Wav with a Freeware Audio encoder like "Headac3he" then burn the Wav file to CD-R..You can Probably do a whole DVD to CD-R in about 30 minutes...I hope you understand the Instructions Because it is Pretty easy...Cheers
PS: all of the Programs Mentioned can be found for free on the Net if you do a Google search....
What I want to do is even simpler than that. If it gets too complicated, I'll buy a CD Recorder and put it in my system.
I am recording a Church Service. Patron wish to have a CD to listen to the music and sermon. If I burn a DVD+RW of the service, I just want to make a CD-R for people to listen to in the car or for shut ins. The church office staff would be making the recording.
I "desire" the ability to put a disk in the computer and select a desktop icon to do the conversion. It would save us $350 for a dedicated CD Recorder.
Are you sure your Just Not Lazy..??
The Method I described is as easy as it is going to get..The only other Thing I can sugest is that there is a Program called "DVD Audio Extractor" which will do what you want but I don"t know If it will be any easier than the method I described....good Luck
I appreciate your advice, and yes I am lazy. Since I do this work as a volunteer, if I had to take 30 minutes each week, it would take me an extra 26 hours per year.
We have an office staff, and after I get this set up, I'll try teaching them to make the conversion.
I will be making 60 to 70 DVD recordings each year. Simple is better!
FINALY !!!
Thanks Minion for the tip !!!
Now I´m able to listen all my fantastic DVD shows in my car, during the terrific traffic jam here where I live, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Thanks a lot. It really works !!
DVD Audio Ripper is a software to rip DVD to mp3 or wav. You can use DVD Audio Ripper to extract DVD audio track (soundtrack), convert DVD to mp3 and convert DVD to wav with complete sound effects.
