Hopefully not but I haven't been on here for at least two years since I didn't mod any sytems. Anyway, a friend is modifying my Hitachi 78 with Slax and either ixtreme of maximus. My question is regarding Live. I JUST got the system and subscribed to live but does that mean I did the update? Cause I don't think it asked for it. Secondly, will I be ok to play Live with this drive and firmware? I read a lot but couldn't find the exact answer to my question and would like to hear from other Hitachi 78 or 79 owners. I know Sammys are fine. Thanks!!

Thanks much Monteca...I assume as long as I don't use firmware updates I should be fine unless MS throws a bomb on the Halo 3 update?

you have to take the updates to go online...but they have all been fine...i have an elite with a 0078 drive
