I recently purchased a battery off of amazon and I am wondering if a non-Song battery will work?

third party batteries normally have problems such as burn your psp into a pudle

True that, but I only plan on using it for Pandora only. So you think it would be capable of it.

You're probably better off using a Sony battery, as I doubt it's designed for other brands. But you can try it, just make sure you have a battery to boot your PSP up with.
