i found a new problem..
on the level where you have 4 minutes to get to the cannon before the meteor hits you, as i am running killing enemies along the way, i get a disc read error at a certain spot. and it's always at the same spot. anyone else have this problem? im gonna try burning this at a slower speed and maybe that'll fix my audio problems as well...

Try using CloneCD at 4x
I had read error issues with Metroid Prime 3.
I tried on 2 different types of media using ImgBurn and had read errors. I then decided to try CloneCD and the game works perfect burned with CloneCD.

I having similar problems, except its when I start the game up from the wii screen sometimes it will work and most of the time it won't, do you think it could have something to do with my DVDRW drive or should i just use the same drive and try clone cd? and if I do use clone CD should I burn at 4x or 2x
p.s. I am using Verbatim media

Its your media. I can't say this enough. I have tried several different burning programs and different burners and nothing made a difference until I found the right media. Now every game that I burn works perfectly regardless of which program I use to burn it.
I've been through so many different types of media and the only kind that has NEVER given me any kind of DRE's is
Sony DVD-R with accucore

I don't think its my media though, because I have never once had a problem with any game I have burned until yesterday with MP3

@falcon209
I used CloneCD.
@Kafluke
I also agree with you Kafluke that media is usually the problem when it comes to DRE. But I have used both TYGO3 and Maxell and most all other games work fine. The only games I seem to have issues with is EA Sports games and had issues with Metroid Prime 3.
I burned Tiger Woods and burned Metroid prime with ImgBurn at different speeds using ImgBurn and they gave me DRE. I then decided to try CloneCD to burn these titles and after words have had no DRE issues. I then reburned a few other previous EA games that I had issues with and they also work perfect now with no DRE.
So in some cases and some titles it seems that media might not always be the culprit when receiving DRE. Burning application and burner can effect results as well.

it couldn't have been that because it was a torrent and a lot of people have no problems with it

yes but sometimes you can have corruption even if its the same download. Try redownloading it if all else fails.
I burned mine with imgburn and have had no problems whatsoever.

Why burn at 2x? Burning to slow can cause issue as well. I would stick with 4x or 6x.

fixed the problem
i tried using clonecd at 4x but it didnt work. so i went back to imgburn and burned it at 2x and that worked perfectly. i noticed that when i was playing my first burn at 4x, the wii's dvd drive was making loud noises like it was trying really hard to read the disc. so i figured maybe burning it at a slower speed would help. and it did.

glad to hear it friend. I have been thoroughly enjoying my metroid 3. I even put down bioshock on the xbox360 to play metroid and I'm enjoying it a lot more. It's great to see the wii come into its own!
