I just (hopefully successfully) installed my Wiikey yesterday. I've tested a copy of my mario strikers and it worked flawlessly. All origional wii games work fine, and I'm burning another game as we speak to test that one as well. My problem is I can't get the setup disk to work. I tried 1.1 which only made an image of about 1.4gigs and the wii couldnt read it. I read that the size may make the difference so I did the 1.2 setup which made the 4.5ish gigs image but it also couldn't be read as well. I figure it does what it needs to for now, but would like to solve this problem before I close up my wii so that I don't run into more problems when I try to update the chip. It is not a clone and I'm pretty confident the chip is soldered correctly. Maybe I'm burning the setup disk incorrectly? I downloaded the 1.2 setup. Unzipped it. Double clicked the us bat file, and burned the image it made using nero. Please help.

you don't need to put in the startup disk to play backups...just the discs out of region. out of the box, wiikeys should allow you to play backups.

the 3.0U update also prevents the wiikey startup disc from being recognized. there ARE workarounds. do a search and you'll find the links to them.

Can anybody help me with these problems?

1st question - When i download the setup disk 1.2 from the wiikey website the bootable disc is in an MS Dos batch file and when i click it nothing happens and i have no idea how to burn it. The previous two set up disks came as iso's and burned fine

2nd Question - When i finally did my install (D2B 3 legs missing) i completed all soldering to the wii and checked the connections were not shorting. However when i soldered to the wiikey i soldered the 2 points with the holes round the wrong way and when i switched on and pushed the power button the light went off and would only come back on when pulling the power lead. I changed the wires round and originals boot up but doesn't see back ups. Could i have damaged the wiikey and?or my wii dvd drive.

Any help would be greatly welcomed
