Why not transfer Wii VC games?

I have been doing alot of reading about people wanting to transfer Wii VC games. Everyone says it cant be done. I have yet to see an explanation as to why it cant be done. I'm sure someone has copied a VC game to a SD card and put it in another wii. Anyone know what happens exactly? Does the 2nd wii just not see the game? Just curious what it is that prevents one from doin this. I am the only one of my little circle of friends with a wii so I cant try this out myself.

i have tried myself the wii will not let copy those vc games to an sd card at all

actually there was an explanation a while back. it has something to do with some coding. each game when bought and downloaded is basically assigned to that wii and cannot be transferred. someone feel free to add or correct me on that, but that is what i remember

edit: ok with 3.0u you can copy to a mem stick but you can still only play on ur own console.

I just noticed that you can copy v.c games to sd card,

Has anyone tried to play or upload their games on the sd card in someone elses wii i.e their friends wii

the virtual console games are signed to your console only. you can copy them to a sd card, but when you transfer to another system, it'll stop in the beginning, saying that it can't be copied.

nintendo wants everyone to purchase virtual console games for each system. if it wasn't signed, then everyone would be able to get the games from others. it would defeat the purpose of wiipoints.
