Burning with Windows Vista

I just purchased a new PC With Vista on it and no Nero StartSmart burning metarial on it. I use DVD Shrink and went through the process of burning a movie and when it go done going through DVD Shrink nothing happened. Normally if I had Nero the DVD tray would pop open and I could put a blank DVD in to burn it on. The DVD burning metarial I have no is Windows DVD Maker and not sure if that is what I use. Could someone help me?

If you don't have one of the later versions of Nero 7 installed you won't be able to autoburn with Nero from DVD Shrink as you have in the past. Instead just download and install ImgBurn for burning. You can either output an ISO image file from Shrink and burn that or set up Shrink to autoburn with ImgBurn.

There used to be a version of DVD Shrink already hacked to use ImgBurn but the site that had it has taken it down for legal reasons.

Thanks for the info. I did test a DVD out and did burn the files off Windows DVD Maker but will try what you suggested.

You can "hack" ImgBurn by renaming the exe file from ImgBurn.exe to DVDDecrypter.exe. Then put it in: %systemroute%\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\

Example:

C:\Program Files\DVD Decrypter\DVDDecrypter.exe

When you use Shrink, choose the option "Save ISO Image and burn with DVD Decrypter". It will launch ImgBurn after it is finished transcoding.

If you happen to have DVDDecrypter, then rename the Original DVDDecrypter.exe to DVDDecrypterReal.exe. Make sure to correct the shortcuts otherwise, you will launch ImgBurn when you want DVDDecrypter.
