Flasing with Mac OSX?

is it at all possible to do a firmware flash with osx or is a hard mod the way to go?

Hey ya I got a mac osx but its a crap ibook. I assume if u have an intel macpro or w.e the tower version is with sata ports and xp running on parallels u might be able to do it if u set the mac to boot in windows to boot slax at startup to get into mode b. U need a lot of stuff to do it with a mac. lmk what u have and i would be interested in helping u.

thanks for the reply, great to hear your so willing to help.
im using an intel macbook here at uni, but back at home we have an intel imac. both running windows and osx with bootcamp.
however, no tower mac, so no way of setting up any pci cards etc.
im sure we have an old xp laptop knocking about at home too, somewhere.
will it be easier to just take it to someone who knows what they are doing?
there are computer fairs once a month up here in newcastle (uk), and everyweek back home in manchester.
is a softmod much more sensible than a modchip? i know most people seem to sway the way of flashing.
as i used a modded ps2 for so long, im not averse to getting the xbox done too.

Interesting situation, I'm interested to see the results. But to answer that particular question, in my opinion a softmod is much more sensible because you can do it yourself with little to no possibility of screwing up. also, with a firmware mod, you can still play on Xbox Live without getting banned.

Ok there are ways of opening an imac and there are sata ports inside. From there on I would have no idea if the bootcamp windows xp would be able to pick up the drive. The old xp laptop u have most likely does not have sata ports if its over 2 yrs old. Your best off finding someone with a newer desktop pc and ask them to help you out. gl
