I am trying to create a very basic menu in scenarist, but no matter what I try I cannot get it to work. I have a still image as the background that is black at the bottom, and to this I have added the 4 chapters as text boxes. What I want to be able to do is highlight the chapter that is required to be played with a red rectangle around it. The background image is ok, and I have created the subtitle stream with the rectangles in, however when looking at the preview all 4 red rectangles are visible. I just need chapter 1 to be highlighted then be able to move around with the arrow keys to highlight the required chapter. I think it is something to do with the colour pallet but I cannot work out how to get it to work. Please help!!
Are you saying you can create buttons, but cannot navigate? You have to map the menu buttons otherwise you cannot navigate. You can go to "tools=>auto route" or map them manually.
Hi JaguarGod. Thanks for the guide, that is very helpful however I'm afraid it's not quite the info I'm after. I have a still image as the menu, and have created a subpicture jpg with just 4 red rectangles that I want to surround the text on my menu background, but only when that menu is selected. Both images are the same size, however my menu bacdrop is black and the subpicture is white with the 4 rectangles in red. When I view a preview in scenarist for the menu my red rectangles don't show up at all. I have created buttons around them and added the routing in, but the highlight still doesn't show. I hope this explains my problem better. Thanks
Ok, so you are saying that the button highlights do not show.
I'll have to check it out in Scenarist cause it's been a while since I used the program. I'll get back to you in a few days.
Oh, and if possible, could you upload your menu files. Then, maybe I can work directly with your files and see if I can figure it out. You can send them to me through PM if you don't want anyone else to look at them.
