Guys, need help plz. Have successfully made a few iso before on my old pc, but now after upgrading to a AMD 3200+ my iso don't seem to work.

I have connected my xbox to my pc via network cable to my hubb, copied the stuff across. Using Isomaker 1.2.1 i have created the iso, then burnt to dvd-r with my pioneer A05 (latest bios) onto reitek G4's 4x dvd-rs. Using Nero6 and also tried Record Now Max 4.10.

No errors and as far as i know they should have copied fine. But when they are in the xbx, it loads up, checks the disc then goes the the evo front screen. Switching off the xbx and booting up with the game gives me no luck either.

At my tethers end here, only thing I can think is I'm missing a step in the iso creation (but don't think so) or that with my new pc, something is going on but I think that highly unlogical.

Also, disabled my anti-virus.

All help will be much appreciated.

Dave

-just seen in a post, that new games can now detect the mod chip. Is this so, or some NooB just mouthing off. I'm trying to back up -MidTown Madness3, Freedom Fighters & Mace Griffin- none of these run, symptons as above._

-Should mention, that I haven't flashed my mod chip since it was installed almost a year ago. Do I need to flash it, like a pc's cmos??? Running the evox front end, think i have the enigma chip, not sure, if it's important can check.

come on, everyone else is doing it *grin*

To be safe upgrade your bios to the EvoxM7 or X2 4977 and use Craxtion to patch the .xbe files before you burn the disc's.

Thanks, will do. guess a search for the patch should show results.

I have never had to patch the xbe files b4 with craxation (do u think i've just been lucky until now, or this is something with the new games).

Any other help would be appreciated guys.

One thing (don't think it will make ne difference), i'm now ftp'ing the files from xbx onto a slave drv on my pc rather than before where i was using my master as backup space. Like I said, don't think it would make a diff, but u never know, pc's do some strange shit.

-just checked thru the forum and noticed that ppl with newer xbx's seem to need to upgrade their chip bios, I have had mine for two years now (almost-kinda can't remember-) and i'm guessin my xbx will be the older ver and the chip would also not be newest out there, question: not going to knacker my chip by using the new bios??

It's that the newer games have a built in media check that checks to make sure there is a disc in the DVD drive and that it is an original disc.

Oki, so will try craxation tonight on the xbe file and see if that removes that crap.

as far as i know craxation knows which files to fix. will try that first thing and report after it's done.

Thanks loads.

- As for Evox, i have seen there is a new ver out, i know u just create the xbx iso and boot up with it, then connect and re-copy it across to the xbx (or can u just skip that and recopy, via ftp overwritting current evox, across to the xbx seeing i already have evox alrady installed, im just trying to upgrade not reinstall on new xbx).

- With the bios, can i just copy that into the bios dir in evox and then get it to upgrade from there (i know it has to be 1024 so ahve the proggy to duplicate it 4x to make it the right size) or do i need to create a boot cd?

soz for the xtra questions, but u have opened a can of worms here. I am searching all the forums i can find, but having trouble finding a complete answer.. ppl seem to be mix-matching ideas.

FTP'ing the new EvolutionX files would probably be the easiest.
Once you put your new bios in the bios folder you can Choose the Flash bios option from the EvolutionX dash and it should give you a list of bios files in the bios folder.
