PSP 3.40OE-A HOW TO PLAY PS1 GAMES ON IT?

HI ALL THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IVE EVERY USED ONE OF THESE SITES TO ASK QUESTIONS SO PLEASE BARE WITH ME.
RIGHT I GO A NEW PSP A MONTH AGO AND WITH OUT KNOW ABOUT THE BENEFITS ABOUT CUSTOM FIRE WALLS I UPGRADED TO A 3.40OE-A VIA THE INTERNET. AS I STATED TO READ ABOUT CFW I NOW UNDER STAIN THAT YOU CAN PLAY PS1 GAMES ON THE PSP. I HAVE A PS1 GAME THAT IS A (EBOOT.PBP) AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET MY PSP TO PLAY THESE GAMES. IVE TRYED UPGADING TO A 3.50 SO I CAN DOWN GRADE TO A 1.50 BUT EVERY TIME I DO THAT IT COME UP WITH AN MESSAGE SAYING ( CANT PLAY GAME (DADADADA) ) SO I TRY JUST DOWN GRADING AND THE SAME MASSAGE CAME UP. IVE READ LOADS OF OTHER PEOPLE PROBLEMS AND NOTHING SEEM TO WORK. IS THERE ANYONE WHO KNOW WHAT TO DO AND CAN HELP ME PLEASE

Also, no posting of email addresses on the public forums.
So, you're trying to update from what firmware? The reason the 3.50 update isn't working is probably down to putting the file in the wrong place...

Why would you wanna go to 3.40 OE-A to 3.50 then downgrade to 1.50?
If you want to downgrade to 1.50 then use the recovery menu to do so. You will need the recovery folder for OE CFW (use google to find) and the 1.50 EBOOT renamed to UPDATE.PBP placed in the recovery folder.
Then place the recovery folder in the ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.
Now start recovery mode.
Hold the R shoulder button down and turn on the PSP (Keep the R shoulder button down. You should then boot into recovery mode. If you don't see the recovery menu hit the brightness button till you see it.
Now run "Run Program at /PSP/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
Follow the on screen instructions and after words you should be back at 1.50
Now you will need to install CFW again to play your PSX games. Just so you know 3.40 OE-A will do this.

You should have a folder for the PSX game with 2 files in it EBOOT and KEYS. Place the PSX folder with the EBOOT and KEYS file into the ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Oh, haha, i didn't notice he was at 3.40 OE-A, i thought he meant to get to 3.40 OE-A...
But yea, why would you ever want to up to 3.50 from 3.40 OE-A?

Hi,
I have just upgrade my firmware from 2.71 -> 1.50 and then 3.40 OE-A.
I can now play ISO and CSO files without any problem. But I cannot play PS1(EBOOT.PBP) anymore.
Could someone please help me?

in order to play psx games on 3.40 oe-a you need to put the eboot file in the GAME folder

in addition to PSPBLADE's reply, Inside the GAME folder create another folder with a file name pretty much like this: NAME_OF_GAME.iso then the put the EBOOT.pbp inside this.
PS. 3.40 OE-A seems to work great in running PS1 games. I've been using 3.03 OE-C before but some PS1 games esp. FF8 hang/freeze a lot. Since I've upgraded to 3.40 OE-A I haven't encounter any probs yet.
