Ok so like most other ppl here I am very new to this so here goes
I used the Avi2DVD guide and thought I followed it pretty well
Using the avi2dvd program as suggested in the guide as well as the dvd decrypter program to burn to dvd+r. Everything went fine with no errors during decoding or burning.
When put into my dvd player all I see is a green choppy screen but I can hear the sound from the movie.
Not sure what I did wrong but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. This site is probably the best resource guide I have found and Thank You very much for being here.

Does this mean in the PC or the Standalone Player or both?
In step 2 did you check the box under 'PAL NTSC Conversion' ?
If the source is PAL there is a check box to convert to NTSC (North America).
If the source is NTSC there is a check box to convert to PAL (rest of world).
Did you burn at moderate speed on good media (Verbatim?)
If you use your PC media player and go to the AVI2DVD Temp folder and open the DVD folder inside, can you play the movie ok?

The green screen was on my standalone, when I tried to play it on my pc w/WMP using the created iso it tells me not recognized but yes it did play as an avi

Well the pal to ntsc option is greyed out and not available for selection only the ntsc to pal was open for checking off so I didnt select anything

I am using dvd+r memorex single layer which states up to 16x write speed, I only chose 12x write.
And as far as the setup of files in the temp folder, here is what it looks like.
The audio folder is empty and the video has all the ifo and vob files
Nope the file will not play on WMP, I loaded it up in DVDFab and the little preview window showed the same green choppy screen as my standalone. The video_ts file only has 2 of each of the ifo, vob, and bup files also, arent there suppose to be alot more? I am guessing I must have chosen a wrong option somewhere and should just try again from the beggining. Will also take your advice and write at 4x.
Try converting the same AVI with vsoDivX to see if the results are the same.
It will create a dvd folder that should be able to play back with your media player.

Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
