I understand that you can put your own xbox 360 hard drive to avoid spending the Hefty $100 price. So can I hook my harddrive up to my computer and add xbox live content that way? For example the downloadable guitar hero songs? thanks again.

as far as using like an external HD for Live content, no, you can't. it only works for music and videos, not Live content. sorry m8

the difference is the disc formatting. the 360 only saves to discs with exact XFAT formatting or something weird like that.

oh ok i see. well, i suppose if you could find a way to hook it up to the computer, then that's a start. however, i've heard that the orginization of the files on the xbox hd's is really weird and a lot of folders aren't viewable in Windows, so whether or not you can find a place to put the songs where they'd work, i'm not sure

yes it is, as long as the external hard drive is USB 2.0 and is FAT32 formatted
