So i have tried searching, and I really couldn't find the answer, so I figured I would ask, it's a newb question. I am looking to backup my blu ray movies, can the ps3 play them? Obviously it plays regular ones, but will it actually play backup blu ray discs? I am in the us. thanks

I'm pretty sure that BD-R's can be played. I think its on the ps3 box as discs that can be played. My question is how go you get an ISO of a bluray disc on your computer. Is there somethig like DVD decrypter for bluray?

It needs 2 things: Blu-Ray-Rom Player & Blu-Ray Decrypter what probably will be developed when the copy protect is cracked...
Same as DVD but with new media
It's The Wayz Of The Underground

Yes ypu can dump blu-rays, even with a networked PS3. I think you can evendump movies to the hard drive. As for burning them then playing them on your standalone, im not too sure. Check the blu-ray forum and the likes of doom9.
If you even search hard enough, you will find full blu-ray rips as well as recodes.

If i'm not mistaken, and i'm quite certain i'm not, AnyDVD can rip/decrypt blu-rays.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I have the latest AnyDvd and CloneDvd and it supports HDVD and Blu-Ray.I don't have a Blu-Ray burner or HDVD burner yet,but hopefully real soon I should have one.It would be nice to have a combo that supports HDVD and Blu-Ray,but just being able to afford one of them will burn a hole in your pocket.

Yeah, I was just about to say, I know slysoft does have ANYDVD out which does support blu ray, I'm not sure on the hddvd, but if you said it does, then yeah. I read that AACS is "supposed" to be coming out with new keys which will make anydvd not capable of backing up those images, but right now they can. But cost is that big issue. Decent blu ray writers, and even the media are hard to find at a cheap cost. I am thinking about getting the drive, but since the ps3 is my only blu ray player right now, it would be pointless to have it and not be able to play the backups to test and make sure they work.
