Tried to make backup. AnyDVD (6170) scanned. Then went to shrink.
When I tried to open disc-shrink would not even recognize there was
a disc. So opened in DVD Decrypter and wrote a file to harddrive.
Ran the resulting file through FixVTS. When I go to open the file
in Shrink I get a message, Out Of Memory, Not enough storage is
available to process this command.
I'm really puzzled. The folder is 7.51 G. I have 46G available
on my harddrive. The hard drive was defragged just a couple of days
ago.
Any Suggestions?

Use AnyDVD 6.1.7.1 beta. Rip with AnyDVD ripper then open in Shrink.

Thanks for the suggestions. It worked just fine with the DVDFabHd
Decrypter. It probably would have worked fine with the beta version
of AnyDVD. I keep forgetting about the beta version because I only
get notices on the regular versions.

I get that message too on DVD shrink if I forget to clear the movies out of that program. Try seeing if you have other movies still there and get rid of them.....

Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but I'm also having a problem backing up Delta farce with DvDShrink.
Anydvd Version 6.1.8.4
The problem I'm having is that after I analyze the movie I can't shrink it to a single layer dvd. It has a file size of 5.329MB and that is in reauthor mode with only the title. The audio files appear way too small ( see pic below ). Any ideas other than backing up to a DL?

I did this one with AnyDVD and Shrink. A couple of suggestions.
Uncheck both AC3 2-channel English under the Audio. Also uncheck
the Spanish under subpicture. In preferences set your target size.
It is just before MB. I set mine at 4300. A lot of people use
4600. Then click backup.

file size is set to 4300 so that i don't write to the very edge. Had some problems with tdk's @ the default setting.
also unchecking the the audio stuff only takes away a whole 6.18MB. Maybe its just seeing the audio format incorrectly. 5.1 should be atleast 100MB well if its any good.
Might be a problem just on my work pc, i'll try it at home. I did back up the lookout right before trying Delta Farce.

I had some trouble with AnyDVD when I tried it also. What I finally
ended up doing was ripping to the hard drive with FabDVDHdDecryper
(free version). Ran it through FixVTS. Then I opened the resulting
file in Shrink and wrote an ISO file. (The audio file was 300MB)
Then I burned with Imgburn. It fit nicely on the disc with the
setting at 4300. I played the resulting disc all the way through
and it is fine.
Later I tried ripping to the hard drive with AnyDVD. Then used
FixVTS, Shrink to an ISO, and Imgburn. Was able to do it that way also.

Thanks Shardel. I tried as you said and ripped it with anydvd to the harddrive. Then used shrink right after and it came out great! Thanks again.

You're welcome.
I find that usually works unless there are structure problems. Then
the FixVTS takes care of that. If one of those two combinations
doesn't work, it is usually a bad press on the original.

I had the same problem, with the oversized reading. I used AnyDVD to rip it to a file on my hard drive and opened it from there. For some reason it removed the over-sizing. I haven't checked out my DVD yet thou.

Oversizing and memory problems can come from compliance errors caused by the copy protection. Sometimes the decryption software cures the whole problem and sometimes using FixVTS comes in handy as Shardel mentioned. However, a quick test is opening the files in DVD Shrink. If the files open in the quick analysis, the files are usually compliant enough that they don't cause problems later in the backup process. The quick analysis in Recode works the same way. With problem files, ripping with AnyDVD is better than trying to use the driver decryption. If ripping to the HD, I usually use the free DVDFab HD Decrypter or RI4M.
