Quote:
15# Copy the UPDATE.PBP file to the root of your memory stick (X:\UPDATE.PBP)
16# Disable the USB connection and remove the Memory Stick
17# Put the Memory Stick back into the PSP
18# Run installer on the PSP. This will create the file needed to reflash your PSP (There should now be a file named "msipl.bin" at the root of the Memory Stick)
I am currently stuck on step 18 on the guide. When i run Pandora's Battery installer it shows the start-up sony logo animation thingy and the PSP shuts down. I have to manually turn it on again nothing has happened. UPDATE.PBP still is on the root of the memory card untouched appearently. Any thoughts?

Could it be relevant to the fact that when ever I try to format my memory card using mspformat it says "Psuedo format is not necessary"?

Any help please. Why does my PSP shut itself down while installing Pandora Battery? I'm going out of my mind here :(

You should have copied the pbfirm_install and pbfirm_install% folders to the GAME or GAME150 by now. Run that from the XMB menu on the psp. It will create the IPL needed to downgrade. I think that is what you do not understand.

I do. I have pandora_battery + pandora_battery% along with pbfirm_install + pbfirm_install% in the X:/PSP/GAME folder. And of course update.pbp in the root.

I have seen some video tutorials on how to downgrade using pandora's battery and they dont seem to have 2x corrputed data lying in the memory card when they run the installer from XMB. I have a hunch that the corrputed data is something I have screwed up somehow. Still shuts itself down when I run the installer. :(

Nevermind. Now I think I understand the missing piece of the puzzle. As of now I have the official firmware 2.81. If I understand other posts correctly I cannot downgrade or get pandora's bettery to downgrade my PSP unless I find someone who already have a jigkick battery. So for me there is absolutely no way of downgrading back to 1.50 except for finding someone with a jigkick battery :(

Please comment if I am correct so far.

You are correct but you can downgrade using the other methods such as using an unpatched GTA:LCS and Lumines.
