Installshield wizard problem

everytime i try to install or uninstall anything, my installshield wizard just hangs there.. but sometimes it continues after 20 min or so... but most of the time i just shut the PC down since it freezes all app including the dekstop.. any clue on how to solve this??
i already tried scanning with 3 anti-virus and spyware/adware.. its clean.., i've heard there's a way to reinstall it or something... im not sure.
