Wiikey not playing backups

Put in my Wiikey. Wii boots up, can play Wii discs. However, it won't run backups nor the Wiikey update disc I downloaded and burned. Thoughts? I'm fairly certain that it's soldered well, and that there is no crossover.

i am having the same problem i have tried Maxell dvd-r and Memorex DVD-r's but niether have been able to get the wiikey bootdisk to start....i have tired a freinds backed up wii game to see if my wikey actually worked, and it launched his game, it shouldnt be my dvd burner should it??? any help would be greatly appreciated!!
