xbox live connection problem - mtu failed

i have dsl and i have to obtain a new ip address by going to a website and entering a user name and password when i sign on for the first time every day... right after i obtained the ip address i switch my network cable to my xbox and manually assign all the network information to the xbox... my ip and dns were confirmed but it got to the mtu and failed... if i change the mtu on the computer will it or work or would the mtu have to be changed by a network administrator??... if changing the mtu on the comp will work then does neone know how to change it on windows vista...

em are you sharing the connection or just pluggin in the ethernet, plugging in the ethernet will only allow streaming music and vids, wont share the connection so u can get xbl.

check my video. Used vista to configure mein. Just follow the steps lol.
