Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a program that will allow sorting of GIF files according to number of frames? Or has some other way of distinguishing between animated (multi-frame/image) GIF files and still (single-frame/image) GIF files?

I have a bunch of each in the same directory and I am trying to sort them out, but opening each one and seeing if it moves, then moving it to the right directory by hand is taking too long! If I open the files properties in Windows Explorer and look at the advanced summary info, I see that there is a property called "Frame Count", yet I can't find that property as a column in the details view. Apparently this used to be available in Windows Explorer for Windows ME (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/253691 ), but not in Windows XP (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310297/en-us )...

Does anyone know of a program that will rename a GIF based on the number of frames (stills would be frames=1, animated would be frames>1), or maybe an image browser utility that allows sorting by number of frames? It seems to me there should be something like that available, but I just can't seem to find anything.
