Hi dvdman101
Booktyping increases the compatible of playback on the different dvd players. Most new players though accept both - & + formats so booktyping isn't always necessary. I would definitely booktype DL +R media since players can be even pickier w/ them.

What program(s) are you burning w/? Some like ImgBurn and Decrypter have the booktyping option in them.
Nero when set to automatic will automatically booktype +R discs with most LiteOn models.

The booktyping from LiteOn can be used when the burning program doesn't have this option. Pop a disc in the drive - open the utility and change the booktype.
