is there any possible way i can save my games on a usb flash drive ?
i have a 2 gb sandisk usb flash memory but it cannot be detected when connected to ps2..
is there any software requirements ?

You have to have the usb flash formatted with FAT32 to work with the PS2 unless it not compatible with your Ps2.
There is a tutorial for mc emulator.

I have not tried the above myself, but you can read about it.
And there is a usb mc adaptor for the usb.
