I just built my new system and I need to change PIO mode to DMA for my dvd-rom and I forgot how!!!! I remember it was really easy so please help. I want to be able to rip fast again. I have a lite-on 165 with the updated firmware, so all I need to know is how to go to DMA!

Well In XP you Just go to the "Controll Panel" to "System" to "Hardware" to "Device Manager" then find your IDE Chanells and Right click on the Ide chanell and go to "Properties" to "Advanced Settings" and set the "Transfer Mode" to "DMA If available"...Generally speaking your Drives and IDE Chanell should allready be set to the Fastest supported Transfer mode....Cheers

Haveing a Good ASPI Layer will also help with Ripping speed..I used to only be able to Rip at about 3-5X speed so it would take Like Half an hour to rip a DVD on my 16X DVD-Rom but then I installed Force ASPI and I could Rip at up to 12X speed when ripping single Layered DVD"s and at 8=10X speed for Dual Layerd Disks but if you are getting close to this speed now then you allready have a good aspi Layer....Cheers
