I have brand new 4600 Dell. I downloaded the x-copy free trial version and started reading and writing movies. It says after 3 trial burns you have to buy it. But If you keep clicking on evaluate, it lets you do an unlimited amount. That is not the issue. After I burned a few movies to +r dvd's it would not let me play them in my computer or on any dvd player that I tried at Circuit City. I found that if I put in a movie that I purchased and let it start up and then stop it, then insert a burned dvd it would start right up. Why is that? I just downloaded the Decrypter and Put in Lord of the Rings. But the size was to big. So I put in the one that I burned, and it was half the size of the one I purchased? Soon I will test the one that I copied and then recopied to see if that one will play on a + or - r dvd player. That would mean it takes 2 blank discs to have a compatitable movie to play on the TV. Thanx

Hi chefness. :)

If you want to get "unstumped", download and use DVD Shrink v3.0 beta 5.
Not only is it free, but much more flexible than DVDXCopy / DVDXcopy Xpress (and not "This is a backup" screen either). ;)

If you want get the feel of it before you try it, you can view some of the guides at http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

All you will need is a software to burn the "shrunk" files.
If burning to DVD-Rs I'd suggest burnatonce, another free and user-friendly software.
