I/O device error

A few of the movies i am trying to backup keep giving me the I/O device error, some movies work fine and sometimes i get the same error. What is this, and how can i stop it?

A few things we need...

The name of the movie(s).
The program(s) used for decrypting.
The program(s) used for burning.
The brand(s) of discs being used.
Post any logs available if burning.
When does the error occur...ripping/burning?

the movie was the lookout, but it also happened while trying to back up the season 3 disc 1 of smallville. I use dvd shrink to shrink the files with anydvd as the background ripper, and clone dvd to burn. it never gets to burning always occurs with shrink. i tried to use ripit4me but that didn't work either, it only t=got as far as parising the files.

If LOCOENG's idea does not work then use the ripper function in AnyDVD and rip the DVD to the HD first then process the files w/ Shrink
