b4 i rip a dvd using smartripper it says aspi adapter not found what does it mean?

Basically before i rip a dvd using smart ripper it comes up no aspi adapter found and im just wondering what this means as ive heard a few things about aspi drivers but not to sure what they are about. Could ne please put my mind at rest and also let me know if i need em .

listen, no worries about the aspi adapter. You do not actually NEED it. But I myself find it useful because it makes it so you dont have to watch the dvd for a minute before you open it in SmartRipper. So if you have it, you should be able to stick the dvd in, open SmartRipper, and start ripping!

Well I found if you do not have a Good ASPI Layer installed that SmartRipper will Not be able to decrypt all of the Files on your DVD and will Rip REALLY SLOW...Look for a Little Utility called "force ASPI" this will install a valid ASPI Layer that will help with Ripping Speed and get rid of that error in SmartRipper.....Cheers

ok im in a mess now ive installed force aspi and it got rid of the message at beggining of SmartRipper and finds aspi adapter so its installed but now my dvds dont play when i insert em and ii have to find the files manually and in SmartRipper when i go to start it comes the microsoft error message and shuts down what do i do now i think ive uninstalled the aspi i clicked on kill aspi and SmartRipper doesnt detect aspi adapter anymore so i suppose it is unistaled but m dvds still dont play and smratripper still shuts down help please what do i do now

Well I have never had a DVD Play when I put it in my DVD-Rom drive , I allways have to navigate to the Folder so it will Play..So I don"t know what to tell you

Do you Run XP?? If so all you have to do is a System restore till when it was working properly, Like a Few Days ago and that should fix the Problem....Cheers

ok i have read oyu pieces on this....I have just gained SmartRipper,I did not need aspi thingo,I get the vobs onto my hardrive,
I use intervideo and windows media. to view
problem is dvd player will not then work ,and only windows media will play VOB files..to fix i retore my xp...it gets rid of SmartRipper.. so any ideas. guys...
