pLEASE,Let me know if you purchased, got or just encountered a psp that i have.

INFO: It acts like a full brick with the green light that stays on when you turn it on and the screen stays pitch black. I remember a full brick would turn off on its own after around 15-20 seconds. This one doesn't. The memory stick light works when you stick a memory stick in its slot. AKA pandoras battery doesnt work. Its in really good condition. I also noticed that the battery fsieels lose inside its SPOT. It doesnt click in. It can be easily taken out with barely a lift. Not totally lose, but bareley a life. UHm, thats all i know of right now. It seems like there just is no picture and sound. Unless its something else thats preventing the two from working. I got a spare psp thats good for parts because it has a messed up internal joystick problem. If anyone knows of a video or something that i can replace with this broken psp to get it to work. Then please let me know. THANKS IN ADVANCE..

This same thing happened to me when I tried downgrading my cousin's psp using Pandora's Battery. Is that what you were doing?

i dont even know. I honestly bought it used like this.
>>nevermind about the battery size. Its the battery. No need for the jigkick because it acts the same as if there was a regular battery in there except you have to flick the power switch on ofcourse. Thanks for the quick response. Im guessing your is still broken? or you sold it? Did you come to a conclusion why it is what it is?

Oh no I fixed it! Like I said it was acting the same way yours is after converting the battery into the jigkick. The green light would be on but a black screen would stay. I used the easy Pandora installer found here and later found out that the installer misses one step.It's the part of the mspil thing. Anyways, after doing that, the Pandora screen came up and everything worked put fine. I suggest trying to do that mspil thing (can't recall the exact steps, sorry.)

O well, thanks for your help but that is not my problem. Yours was a full brick that wasnt fixed yet. This IS NOT a full brick because i have an already made pandora battery and memory stick tha i used already to previously revive my purposley bricked psp. ALTHOUGH, PROS!!!, it doesnt mess up after using it right? you can just keep using it and using it right? I thought it was a brick when i bought it, Im starting to think again that it still could be one. But i doubt it, I think its internal. I hope its not a full 'break', haha but this is no time for joking. Please if anyone gots anything. Let me know.

Mine wasn't a full brick! How can I get a brick using Pandora's Battery? Evrything was fine and then I installed the files found in the sticky. I had the same symptoms and then did this

Execute "msipl" application on the PC with the msipl.bin to write
the IPL to memory stick.

and evrything worked. I know my fair share of things here!

sorry for misunderstanding. I hope your still there to help. i got school in 40 minutes thats why and im really trying to get something done before i go. So your saying that you had the pandora battery perfect or no? So your saying the psp is broken from a possibility that the pandora affect messed it up and theres a symtpom for a psp that got messed up by using pandoras battery?? Please and try to find the page to whatever your talking about msipl. So i just have my working cusotm firmware psp with mny jigkick battery thats already a jigkick in my GOOD psp? and then launch that msipl so it can transfer to the battery and theres a chancve it can work? Can the jigkick battery even boot a regular psp thats not bricked???
>>It cant i just tried, should i try to convert my jigkick back to its original battery and then do what you say? How about some good steps. I already have the pandora box easy installer.

Sorry I couldn't answer you in time but here are the instructions I followed when this happened.

12) Connect your PSP to the PC . A Few files and folders will be formed in your ROOT , now copy the msipl.bin from the root to the ?msinst Folder? which is inside your extracted Pandora folder . It should look like this

13) Here we go again START >RUN type in CMD . That black box will open again . Now copy the address of the msinst.exe followed by the PSP drive letter followed by the address of the msipl.bin

Now if your PC shows C:/ in your CMD it should be something like this (with reference to PSP?s drive as I)

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

IF you PC shows C:\Documents and Setting\Username> then it will look something like this :

C:\Documents and Settings\username>Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msinst.exe I Desktop\PANDORA\msinst\msipl.bin

If you did it right you will get a prompt like (this promp will differ from PC to PC) :

>>> PSP MS IPL Installer
>>> Load IPL code msipl.bin
>>> 241664 bytes(59 block) readed
>>> Target DRIVE is 1
>>> Check partation Sector
>>> boot status 0x80
>>> start head 0x0B
>>> start sec/cyl 0x0018
>>> partation type 0x06
>>> last head 0x7F
>>> last sec/cyl 0xCFE0
>>> abs sector 0x00000177
>>> ttl sector 0x0003CF689
>>> signature 0xAA55
>>> Check BPB Sector
>>> signature AA55
>>> Check free reserved sector:OK
>>> Write ABS Sector 0x10 to 0x1E7
>>> Are You Sure ?[Y]

Type in Y and you will get

>>> Write MS BOOT CODE

Congrats you now have a Magic Memory stick . Now Disconnect your psp from the PC and remove the memory card and turn of the PSP , then place the MS back in and turn the PSP on .

Basically if you used this easy installer and then selected the Battery Creator you would have missed one step. Everything else is fine. Don't wory it's only a missing file in the memory stick, your battery is fine. All you need to do is follow the instructions and use the msipl file that is in the root of your memory stick. I had the same problems you had and then followed these instructions. After doing that I was able to get the Pandora Battery Main Menu. Hope this helps and don't forget to back up your eeprom.

Quick guide to converting your battery written by jas0nuk

If you only have one battery and want to unbrick your PSP, you can.

1) Convert your battery into a jigkick one using "Pandora's Battery Creator", but before you press X, press TRIANGLE to backup your battery's EEPROM to ms0:/eeprom.bin
2) Unbrick your PSP as normal
3) When you are done unbricking, take out the battery and the magic memory stick. Start up the PSP using the AC adaptor (do not try to use a USB charger, it will not start up)
4) Insert the magic memory stick and the magic battery
5) Run "Pandora's Battery Creator" again
6) Press L+R to restore the ms0:/eeprom.bin to your battery

NOTE: You can also restore a battery without having made a backup, by pressing SQUARE at step 6. This will generate a fake serial for your battery (0x12345678) which allows it to work normally, but there could be side-effects.

Have fun, and thanks to everyone in the Prometheus/C+D team.

Arcanaut-When tehre no battery and i plug in the charger it lights up green with the same thing.

i just got back from school, sorry for late responses.

Sphynx-So you want me to first change my jigkick battery back to normal? and then run this?? What about the memory stick just leave that?

Do you guys think i could replace the back of my clear/case psp
[messed up jostick one] and just throw it on the new black one? you think its pretty hard? you guys know of any videos anywhere or on youtube to handle the process..ive seen the clear case ones. but any regular OG psps just putting the back part of the psp onto another one?

I don't think there is a way to return the battery to normal in the state your psp is in. Well I couldn't. Try the steps and see what happens.

>> I just realized that what you sent me was the pandoras battery guide [not the easy installer].. it wasnt anything to fix a pandoras battery hack gone wrong. I alredy had a working magic mem. stick and a jigkick batt. The PSP is BROKEN w/ the green light that stays on that seems exactly like a brick. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of any parts to switch up to fix this..because i do have a spare parts psp.
>>>>> IT LOOKS LIKE a brick, feels like a brick. But im thinking its something internal. I hope its something else besides the main motherboard because i have a spare psp w/ the analog part of the motherboard messed up where the joystick moves on its own whether or not you got a brand new OEM joystick installed. So if i switched motherboards, it would be a big problem for gameplay and looking at photos. If anyone knows of any connectors,lcd parts or something that could have affected my PSP to make it look like its bricked then please let me know. I've opened it up half way just to look under the lcd brace, and i left it at that for now just incase someone has an idea of where to look if somethings disconnected. If you got smarts on this topic. Please say something.. Sorry for a long posts, thanks for looking.
>>>>>>>if your wondering, i recieved it like this. Doubt its a brick because im sure my jigkick batt. and magicstick would work. So let me in on your thoughts. Thanks.
