assuming you have used USB extreme to copy the game to the HDD without any read errors shown then I would suggest that you simply have a game that is not compatible with USB extreme.
Not all games are compatible.
Also is your game a dvd single layer, double layer or perhaps even a cd?
Have you managed to get any game working??

PC Specs: CPU-C2D E8400, M/B-P5N-E SLI, RAM 4Gig OCZ Platinum rev2 ,VGA- Nvidia 8800GT 512MB, HDD- Hitachi Deskstar SATAII 1TB, 250Gig Maxtor IDE HDD.
Corsair HX520 PSU, Liteon Lightscribe DVD Writer, Pioneer BluRay drive.

no none of the backup Games work on the usbextreme but i was wondering if i can use the usb hard drive and use the usbextreme program on the computer and put the games on the hard drive and use the hd advance program to boot up the games on the usb hard drive
the reason i said hd advance is i heard that hd advance will allow you to play backup games and 95% of the games by swithing the game mode.

HD Advance is for IDE hard drives only. And yes more games are compatible with that type of hard drive than the USB hard drive.
You need to use USBExtreme, or USbadvance or use Swap Magic to boot the USB hard drive.
Read the Unofficial_PS2_Guide_rev1 on page 105 on how to do this.
You can find the guide here.
