I was reading on an Australian gaming website that said halo 3 has been sold 2 weeks early, it said:
" We came to this country (well, most of us), as convicts for nothing more than thieving bread and maybe a little murder, damned if it doesn’t make sense one of us would manage to nick two copies of the genuine, retail version of Halo 3 a whole fortnight before release, sticking them on eBay for Buy It Now of $149.95.
Don’t know how he did it but BAM, there you have it. IGN state that Microsoft is currently “No Comment” on the whole situation, especially regarding the banning of anyone found playing Halo 3 on Xbox Live before release. We’d say they probably shouldn’t, though some of you enraged with jealousy might probably have them strung from a post and beaten (least of all to steal the pre-release copy)."
This can easily be a scam. I can make good quality copies of the disc and media on my printer. The sellers pics were very low quality. The box art was released. The manual was released. Everything is available to make a fake.
The seller can easily delay shipping. Ebay's policy is the buyer has to wait 10 days before he can complain. So the seller can delay shipping at least that long and make up excuses. He can easily pick up a copy at release and send it off.
But hey... if there's an idiot willing to pay, then it's his own fault.
