Help! Installed WiiKey but Can not Play Backup

I just installed wiikey. I a not sure which board I have, but it has all six pins. I soldered all pin to the board based on the manual.
I am able to play original game, but I can not play backup games. I get the can not read disk error everytime I put in a back up. Do I need to actuvate or turn on the modchip? Help please.

How old is your Wii? You can check your serial number at the following like and it will tell you which board you have.

Which board can not be modded? I believe I have the D2B board, so it should be able to mod. I checked the wires again and everything is connected correctly.

Its a D2B board, but I am not sure if the IC have three legs missing. I will check that tonight.
Just wondering, does it make a difference if they are missing or not? Do I need to install differently? I only see one installation manual (diagram).
By the way, My Wii is version 2.2u and my wiikey is still the original firmware, not updated to 1.9b yet.
Do I need to update Wii or Wiikey?
