I'm trying to make a magic memory stick but..... When I go to: start\run\cmd and enter mspformat F (F is my psp) is comes up with "logical drive has more than a physical drive. Cannot handle it" I've also tryed mspformat.exe F still the same problem. When I did a Google search I found out that this problem happens allot and normally they use a different pc but in my case I've used my pc, my dad's pc' and my spare pc and I still get the same error "logical drive has more than a physical drive. Cannot handle it" I'm using windows XP professional. And I've tried using a 256mb and a 1 GB Sony memory stick pro duo cards.
If you know how to solve this please help me.

Stop being a coward! That easy Pandora's bull**** is garbage. It's basic DOS commands, not rocket science! You will need a memory stick PRO DUO, even 256MB will work. Go to Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management. A new window will pop up. On the left-hand panel click on Disk Management. Your PSP will show up as a Removable Drive with 256MB. I want you to right click on the drive letter of your PSP. Then click FORMAT. Please ensure that "Quick Format" is UNCHECKED. Then right-click and select Change Drive Letter and Path... CHANGE the drive letter to S:, as CompTIA states that letter S is the least likeyly letter for any drive to be. Once done, go to Start/My Computer/Right-click on Removable Drive S and format again with quick unchecked. Copy the mspformat.exe in your root directory of C:. Once you get to the mspformat stage, type CMD in Run. Type "cd c:\" without the quotes. Type "mspformat s:". Now it should work. I'm not 100% on the command, so if you get an error, type "mspformat/?" and it will tell you how to use this command. If you get lost again, just reply back.

There is no excuse NOT to mod! Don't follow the rules, make them!

@4mypsp

Place the Pandora Battery in the PSP when the power led comes on place the magic memory Stick in. The USB and WiFi lights should blink a few times.

If the screen doesn't come on try hitting the brightness button.

Hey sicdude, I get the same error as the OP. So I tried the GUI but during those steps where it says to type Y and enter in the command box, I get an error. The command box just flashes for a millisecond. I managed to print screen it quick enough.

It basically does this for 2 of the steps and when I run the pandora battery creator on my PSP I get a "Program cannot be run" error...same as when you try and run ISOs without setting the m33 driver. Any ideas?

It's a SanDisk 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. 100% genuine as it's magicgate supported.

Ah that did it! Thanks sicdude! Although if I do it manually it still comes up with the "logical drive has more than a physical drive. Cannot handle it" error which is strange. But if I use the GUI the pandoras battery creator loads up and works so thanks!

During the installation when it comes up with "Your PSP memory stick is now going to be logically formatted/modified - Press (Y) at the command prompt, then press Enter." did you even have to press Y and Enter? Cause I didn't have to which is weird. It still flashes for a millisecond and I can't read what it says nor print screen in time causeit seems to flash even faster.

Oh and what's the difference between 1.50 and 3.52 kernel? Am I always meant to keep it on 1.50? Thanks

Anyone having the "Logical drive has more than physical drive" error when running mspformat go HERE and use this method.

It creates the files by using the PSP only. No need to run the mspformat/msinst on the PC.
