Stream video over PS2?

Ok, I have a lot of .WMV files I would like to play on the PS2. I have not been able to find a player that plays these, although I have successfully installed SMS Player onto my memory card, and can play .avi files just fine. Rather than convert the .wmv files to .avi, I was wondering if there was any other software that could just stream video over the home network to the PS2. I mean, it would play on the PC, but display on the TV that the PS2 is connected to... is this possible? Just to stream the video feed? The reason I don't want to just convert the files to .avi is that I have a rather slow s754 sempron 3000+ cpu, and it can takes some to encode =/. Thanks.
