Being from the States, it was hard to read the site......but lets ask this question regarding your camera choices : What do you plan on using this camera for ? Just snap shots, sports, wild life ?

Here is my opinion : You could get a good Point and Shoot camera and it would work for what you are wanting to use it for, but if you are wanting to get closer to the subject than you will want to look at DSLR and lenes.
If you are new to photography, then a good P&S camera is the way to go as then you can learn the basics and after a while, then you can upgrade to a DSLR setup.

Just using Canon as an example, but here is a link to the cameras that they make :
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...fcategoryid=101
The EOS Category would be the DSLR that I was referring to and if you click on that you will see the different bodies that are available and lenses that they make. Good for sports, wildlife, etc... but also depends on what type of lens you want to use.
The Power Shot cameras are a step below the DSLR and have advantages / disadvantages to them. While they dont cost nearly as much as a DSLR, its a good way to learn about photography. The bad thing with them sometimes is that you dont have the reach that a DSLR / Lens combination can give you.
