Hi,

Just hired FIFA 2004 but when I try to load it I just get the FIFA 2004 logo and the game goes no further. My xbox has been chipped but the game is an original. Can anyone help?
Thanx

It wasn't a backup I was trying to run. It was the original disk that wouldn't boot.

I've got the biggest in Newcastle

I had noticed on some ps2 forums that they had similiar problems with ea games but couldn't find anyone that had the problem on the xbox. Not too sure what chip is in my xbox. Messiah rings a bell. I got it chipped a while ago and it isn't possible to switch the chip off.
Can't believe that I am the only person with a chipped xbox that is having this problem. Thought it was guaranteed that there would be loads of posts saying they had they same problem!! Any other ideas ??

OK peachymo, reset the clock and that worked perfectly. Went out and bought the original and have now tried to back it up. Game transfers to computer fine, created iso with craxtion and burnt to a datasafe dvd-r. When trying to play the back-up at the evox screen it just comes up with the evox logo and goes back to the evox menu screen. Does the game have to be patched or do I need to upgrade my evox?

When I look in my settings for the bios it says my version is unknown! I have had it for a while. Is it possible for me to upgrade my bios and if so how do I do it?
Thanks for helping peachymo.

Also, you say the game does need patching. How do you patch it if craxtion hasn't done it automatically?

you will need to know what chip you have to update your bios, if you open up craxtion and choose xbe/iso patcher under the tools menu it will ask you to load up the xbe file choose the file and then patch it. if you need help with craxtion www.craxtion.com is good the bloke that wrote the program has his own forum on there someone may have had this problem with another game and you may find it useful

Also to add. You said that your bios shows up as unknown in evox. If you want to make it so that it shows what type of bios you are running you need to add a ROM line to your evox.ini file, you probally dont have the line for your bios type in there therefore it will not no what to display thus "unknown" for bios.

It is very simple to do,check it out!

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=38&t=43437&s=7ab357be2a2c944cd26469b3285d9768

If you are not sure what bios you have, then open your evox.ini file, look for the ROM lines in there, there will be a line that says (current= xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) in there. This is the ROM line for your current bios.
You can either go through the list till you find the bios you have or simply copy the whole list and paste it in your evox.ini file under the ones that you already have in there. Then save it and reboot your xbox. The bios that you have in there will now be listed.
