I was trying to flash my Hitachi 46 drive.

I have an onboard SATA connection and connected my 360 drive to it.

I booted my computer with the slax v2 cd.

After slax was done, my console was in mode B (since I had to press eject twice and also, since the green light was constantly flashing)

when i restarted my computer, when the windows loading bar was loading, I ejected the 360 drive.

once windows loaded I did not see my 360 drive in my computer.

I downloaded the hacked firmware from xbins called "Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_2_Stealth"
This is what was used on the tutorial video for v46 hitachi, however, it was in the old folder in xbins and there were newer firmware. Which firmware should I be using?

I tried to flash the 360 using drive 'F' even tho it probably was not the xbox360.

Anyway, I got the error:
ERROR: Hitachi drive build was NOT detected!

WARNING: One of the THREE things could be wrong!

#1: check to see if your drive is in windows
#2: make sure you are using the right letter
#3: your x360 drive is not a working version

So, I assume it is cuz of #1 which is that windows does not the my xbox. Why would this be? Is the onboard sata not compatable? would I buy a SATA controller?
Also, I have a friend that had an extra one which he said was SATA 1.5 instead of SATA 3.0. Is that OK to use?

Well, I had tried it about 5 times yesterday and just gave it another 2 tries now. To my noob eyes, after a few tweaks in BIOS, but it seems to have worked now. Windows finally found my drive as "H" and it went through the complete flash to say restart computer.

I restarted computer and xbox 360. Now the only thing is that I got ahead of myself on the flashing. The 360 still plays originals fine, but I did not get the stuff make backups yet.

I have been seeing all about the special kreon firmware drives to read the games and the pioneer something DL drive to burn them. I have a plextor px-176a. This is a DL burner. will this work? Do I need more special tools and what would they be? I have looked around for tutorial and maybe I missed it. Is there a link to one out there?

Also, I have been looking online for that Samsung SH-D162C Drive and see some that say SH-D162C/RSWP and other with SH-D162C/BEWE. Anyway, do the /RSWP and /BEWE or any other variation of that matter or would they all work?

I have been looking online at a bunch of sites trying to find the sh-d162c and they seem to all be sold out at the moment. Since everything on ebay was $50 or $60 with shipping, I went ahead and purchased one for $20 at some site that was currently out of stock, but they will be sending it when they get more in stock.

Im not a big online player, but I suppose I will flash newest firmware anyway because I may play some. So, do i just go through the same process of mode b, then when windows starts type restore.exe in CMD, then still flash22s h 1245 for the new firmware?
