than I read a bunch of shit about crackdowns on modchip places.

I ordered mine from divineo.cn

Is there really any risk of it being confiscated, me getting in trouble, etc?

I hope there is any risk, I'm planning on ordering a modchip from a website in a couple of weeks.

The only way you would get into trouble is if diveno.cn told the authorities or whoever tells them to reveal information about their customers, about you. I think that most modchip suppliers ship their products labeled as a spare computer part, through their mailing service's. So you really don't need to worry about anyone finding out about the modchip on the route between your house and the dealer.

Yeah, i think the only modchip suppliers that will be unsafe to order from are the one's located in countries where it is illegal.
