Hi all,
I am a complete newbie to DVD burning/copying.
I recently started copying my existing DVDs using DVD Shrink onto my hard disk creating .ISO files, then using DVD Decrypter to burn an empty DVD with the .ISO files.
Now, I encountered a DVD that ended up creating a bunch of .VBO and .IFO and .ISO files - and DVD Decrypter is unable to view them to copy onto my blank DVD !
Please help!
(As I am sure you've realised, you're dealing with a raw newbie, so please bear with my ability to interpret any terms that are considered 'normal' or 'understood' by the community :) )

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Firstly, a quick explanation as to what your files are - .vob, .bup and .ifo are all "dvd compliant" file formats. To burn them to your DVD as an ISO, you will need to make an ISO of them first. To do this, I recommend using IMGBurn, which is free and you can find it here.
You can then burn that with IMGBurn too.
FYI, DVD Decypter isn't really necessary if you can rip your DVDs with Shrink - however, if you encounter problems ripping/burning any of your dvd files/iso that you've ripped, chances are they are copy protected and you'll need another, free application to strip the protections.
Guide to help you:
Guide on building an ISO with IMGBurn
(Burning is the same principle, just change IMGBurn to "Write" mode.

It's still good advice. I think Fasfrank and Scuba Pete did an outstanding Job at putting the site together.

Guys,
Thanks all so much for your help and link(s).
I've been able to convert the files (.vbo, etc.) into an .ISO format. Later, I was able to burn the image file onto my DVD+R. So, all in all, I'm now into the 'burning' thing :)
Now, I've gotta find a good deal on an external hard disk and see if I can use it for backing up all (or at least most) of my movies.
Once again, gracias.
