Hi folks, (at first.. sorry about so much text, but did I put it too short, important facts of what I want or did would be missing ,so please bear with me. For better structure I put headlines to it, hope that helps you :))

Background Story

I've been reading these forum now for quite some while. And so far I got quite a bunch of useful ofttimes even necessary information out of it.
Now I am at a point neither existing threads nor google is of any good help. (And I did a good search. I was up last night till 4 AM to not lose focus of the objective I gave myself).

Anyway, I've been sick of the dubbed voices in the game (and the german translation of the subtitles, but latter is not much of a problem --> US-Version.) Well, the problem there is: There is no version out there that has Japanese voiceacting and at the same time english texts (I'm not that much advanced in Japanese language, yet... by far). So I only see the possibility to get those original back in undubbing the game. I must admit, I have no how to really accomblish that. So what I did so far might be the total wrong way.

What I did so far

What I have tried so far is to extract audio data out of the international version (I just hope they didn't change dialogue in there etc.) I used the Cube Media Player to do this. I got one huge .adx file out of it (~720 Mb). As in itself, it won't play. (I want to know what that file contains, so I know it is the right one...although there are no others :-/) The only thing CMP allows me to do is exporting it (and converting it, for that matter). Since I found a adx plugin for Winamp I tried that approach. Result: This isn't like a Dreamcast .adx. So next step... convert it. Since I didn't find any option (at first) in CMP to convert it to .wav I used other programs. None would let me convert it. All claimed it wasn't a valid .adx file. PS2AC GUI I got off of one site converted it to a .wav file with the same size as the adx (I know .adx is compressed, so it seemed weird that .wav had the same size. I played it anyway. And I really got some.. well noises beneath which I believe I heard dialogue, but it also could have been my imagination.
Finally, I found the option how to convert in CMP and I got a bigger file out of it, as I expected, anyway. So I then got a 2,5 Gb file. But it wouldn't play. Winamp complained about buffering and went on with the next title in the playlist.
I know I've read here, that the .wav header might be missing. But I erased the files I have to give it another try.
Now I am currently letting CMP scan the disk for both Video and Audio Data. As to Audio, there is still only one file. About Video... The "Information Windows" complained about MPEG2 Flag error. So no Video Data is listed. Only that one adx file.

That's to be solved

Actually, I have now no idea how to approach the problem at hand. How to go any further. I surely will extract the .adx file and probably converting it to .wav again. But that's all I am able to do right now.
Also, assumed I would get this to work and validate it is all audio in the game (not only dialogue, which wouldn't be much of a problem) or at least some of it. I don't know how to put the japanese into the english version, nor how to name the file etc.

Side-information that I discovered on my quest

What I wondered... If it is possible to undub FF X (which I do believe is, only that there might no way yet to accomplish this), then why hasn't anyone done so, yet? I read a lot of complaining about the english voices.
Oh... I now remember at atari forum I found someone who claimed had undubbed it. I tried to get in contact, but he does not reply (name is Dreiko --> http://www.ataricommunity.com ). If anyone konws this guy and what he claims about undubbed FF X is true, I would really like to know how he did it. I don't want him to send me any file 4 Gb to upload and all is much. And with proper hints, I know I can get this done by myself.

So.. there you have a hell of a text. If you got it through until now, thank you very much, already. Now, I hope someone can help me out. I really hope.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Qudeid

[Edit]
PS: I already read most of follwing threads:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/269197
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/271190

Both certainly were the help I needed to get as far as I got, but obviously not enough. (I say this, because you know what I already tried)

Is it that no one has any idea, or why else isn't anyone replying? :-/

Not very helpful, but you should go to alucard.cc and post this there. The crew on that site is extremely talented, something as ambitious as this is right up their alley!

Good luck
